euvorio, manufacturer of innovative foods, was awarded first prize in the “Startup Village” competition at the Diabetes Congress of the German Diabetes Society in Berlin in May. Last year, after an intensive development period, the newcomer from Cologne brought Hyporest, the first and only tasteless dextrose preparation, onto the market - an absolute novelty. It offers insulin-dependent diabetics in particular an alternative to sweet foods and drinks to regulate blood sugar. In contrast to all other dextrose preparations, Hyporest supplies carbohydrates quickly, without the typical sweet taste, and can also be dosed as needed. In doing so, it fills a gap in the market.
At the Diabetes Congress, the product was presented for the first time to a broad specialist audience from the areas of research, universities, hospitals, consulting, industry, pharmacies and doctor's practices. In addition to the exhibitor stand in the Industry Forum, euvorio presented itself with a lecture in the Newcomer Area. The company then prevailed in the competition against other start-ups and impressed the jury in the categories of presentation, degree of innovation, benefits and market needs. "Hyporest is a real affair of the heart. We are therefore pleased about the great response at the congress. The prize is of course additional motivation for a young company like us to further establish the product," says Julius Grennigloh, who developed Hyporest out of his own needs as a type 1 diabetic.
The special thing about Hyporest is the protective layer through which the dextrose does not reach the teeth - this means that there is no need to brush your teeth after taking it. Since the product is tasteless, only the desired amount of dextrose is absorbed, without the taste leading to uncontrolled further consumption. These added values also make Hyporest interesting for athletes and all people who need quick energy.
After its appearance at the DDG Diabetes Congress, the largest medical-scientific society for diabetology in Germany with over 9,300 members, the company will be represented at other events:
